Ordinary People - Extraordinary Stories
In this conversation with Kelli Dupps, we explore her idyllic childhood and early life that turned into a "crazy ride" when she learned of her youngest son's kidney cancer when he was about 1 year old. She shares the terror, mourning, gratitude, celebration, and survivor's guilt as her family tread the path of this experience.
She shares how her mother and grandmother's legacies of strong women carried her through. She also shares how the help of other friends and family really has allowed her to do more than she ever thought possible.
While I hope I never have to experience these trials first hand, I am grateful for her willingness to share with me and the listening audience, so we can learn from the example of yet another strong woman in Kelli Dupps.
After the end of this episode I added a little bonus feature that I will be doing regularly at the end of Journey Through Life Podcasts from here on out. It is called "In Their Own Words". I will be reading the first-hand accounts of people who have finished their lives on Earth but have recorded stories and experiences that are meaningful, funny, and entertaining. Please enjoy this first one called "Cowboyin' Rudolph" about my grandfather, Clyde Taylor Higginson.
